Frequently asked questions
Why does 6PPD stain?
The oxidation products of PPD derivatives are dark, so 6PPD is used only in black or dark compounds. For light colours choose non-staining products such as Vulkanox BHT, BKF or Vulkazon AFS.
Is 6PPD used together with TMQ?
Yes. Typical recipes combine 1–2 phr 6PPD with 1–2 phr TMQ: 6PPD covers ozone and fatigue, TMQ covers long-term heat ageing.
What is the difference between Vulkanox 4020/LG and 4020?
LG is the low-dust pastille form; the chemistry is identical, with dosing and safety advantages.
