Rubber antioxidants and antiozonants
Antioxidants (antidegradants) protect vulcanised rubber against ageing caused by oxygen, heat, ozone and flex fatigue. The right choice changes service life by years: staining p-phenylenediamines (PPDs) give the strongest ozone and fatigue protection, quinolines (TMQ) excel in long-term heat ageing, and phenolics are chosen for light-coloured, non-staining parts. - PPD type (6PPD, 77PD): ozone + fatigue + heat; tyres, bellows, belts
- TMQ: the most economical protection against heat ageing, synergistic with PPDs
- Phenolic (BHT, BKF): non-staining, light colours and latex
- MMBI / ZMMBI: heat-ageing synergist; cable, high-temperature parts
- Combine with antiozonant waxes for static + dynamic protection
