Rubber accelerators
Accelerators set the rate, scorch safety and crosslink structure of sulphur vulcanisation. Sulphenamides, with delayed action and fast cure, are the primary accelerators for tyres and technical goods; thiazoles are general-purpose and economical; thiurams act as ultra-fast secondary accelerators or as sulphur donors in low-sulphur systems. The right combination shortens cure time while keeping processing safety.
Quick selection guide
- Sulphenamide: Vulkacit CZ (CBS) the standard, Vulkacit DZ (DCBS) the longest scorch safety
- Thiazole: Vulkacit DM (MBTS), Merkapto (MBT), ZM (ZMBT – latex)
- Thiuram: Rhenocure TMTD – secondary accelerator / sulphur donor
- Pair with Vulkalent G (CTP) for scorch control
- Activation: Zinkoxyd Aktiv + stearic acid
